Most of the Android Phones and Tablets are used over a Wi-Fi Network, and google knows every password entered to connect on Wi-Fi Networks. Google can also read your personal Data including Phonebooks and other important documents and messages on your phones
Now the question is “Is anyone can take a legal action on Google?”
Many of us have this question in their mind, May be you also thinking about this question. But the answer of the above question is Unfortunately “NO”, because as per the privacy terms of the Android Devices, A person who click on “Accept” agree to share his information on Google Server.
Here are some explanations:
On android 2.3.4, user can find this type of explanation as terms of backup features in the Users Guide on Page 374.
“While backing up your phone data you are agree to share your personal data on google servers, with google account. If you replace your phone you can restore the data you have backed up, the first time you sign in with your google account. If you accept the terms you are agree to share your personal data. Wi-Fi Passwords, Browser Websites, a list of installed applications, your contacts and message & call history, most of the settings. If you uncheck this option or not accepting the terms you stop backing up your data on account.”
There is a longer explanation on every Android device this is just a sample, When you add a Google Account on your Android you accept these vague terms. When you use the “Back up my Settings” or “Back up my data” or “Back up current setting and application data” or “Back up application data, Wi-Fi Passwords and other setting to Google Servers” you accepts the terms of googles.
So you are not able to take any Legal Action.
Not only Google but, Apple on iOS, BlackBerry on RIM, Nokia on Symbian also store your Wi-Fi Password as well as your personal details.
No worry, If you uncheck the Box or opt out your phone data will not be stored in google server or elsewhere.
